Medicine &
Healthcare
The field of healthcare continues to grow, offering a multitude of career opportunities, from clinical care, to public health policy, and health administration – in physical health, mental, emotional and behavioral health, population health, and beyond. Clinical care involves providing hands-on care to patients in places such as physician offices, hospitals, mental health facilities or rehabilitation clinics. Clinical care includes support and laboratory positions, such as radiology technology and physical therapy assisting. Health care administrators manage organizations such as private clinics, hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes, and health systems. Public health focuses on research and advocacy to promote healthy behaviors and practices for large populations, such as health education, community health, epidemiology, child health, nutrition, environmental health, and infectious diseases. In this workshop you will meet health care practitioners such as physicians, nurses, mental health therapists, substance abuse counselors, public health practitioners and healthcare administrators. Some workshops visit actual healthcare sites.
